Quality Assurance is everyone’s job

Holding regular workshops, both internal and external, has always been a regular thing at our agency. Each time we complete one, everybody agrees we should have these events more often. That’s why within our next year’s strategy planning at the end of 2016, our agency decided to make 2017 the year of workshops and hold them at least once a month.

Quality assurance process makes sure our work is as bulletproof as it can possibly be before arriving to the most important person in our everyday – our customers.

For this reason, we decided to start the year by talking about our QA processes.

Quality Assurance is everyone’s job
Never stop testing, and your product will never stop improving.

Never stop testing, and your product will never stop improving.

Our goal is to conduct extensive testing of all website features so that none or minimal amount of issues emerge once the project has been delivered, which allows our customers to focus on website usage and further improvements instead of wasting time on finding bugs. This approach permits the website to go live expeditiously.

To achieve this, it’s of the essence to clearly define the steps of testing and task owners. We took time to finely structure which type of testing is done at which phase, agree on tools optimal for the process and who is the best person for the job. By applying a lean working structure, we made sure our Team Leads are performing code quality check, our Marketing Specialists are testing website optimisation and our PMs are making sure we maintain a high score on the requests vs. results chart.

At the end of day 2, we all felt the workshop was time well spent. Everyday work often stands in the way of open dialogue and exchange of ideas, so everyone enjoyed the opportunity to speak up and be part of the solution. We made sure the session was recorded and later transformed both into job aid for QA staff and learning material for new colleagues to come.

Thanks to everyone that participated! Looking forward to our next session!
